Our history
In 2017, the Touring Club de France celebrated its 70th anniversary.
Stemming from the Grand Touring founded in 1890 to promote tourism in all its forms, the TCF equestrian group was created in 1947. It was at the origin of equestrian tourism in France, an activity that the club would develop over the next 45 years.
The TCF moved to the Bois de Boulogne site in 1949, where it developed a wide range of activities: dressage, horse shows, races, endurance raids and outdoor riding. A non-profit organization since 1981, the TCF has trained numerous riders and teachers, often with brilliant results, taking our riders to the top of the French Championships and all the way to the European Championships.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton opened its doors in 2014, offering riders a unique perspective in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne.
Infrastructure
THE CARRIER

Illuminated, the arena offers a beautiful view of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, providing a unique setting for learning horse riding in Paris.
THE GRAND MANEGE
Olympic-sized (60×20), equipped with a spectator stand and a jury stand, state-of-the-art flooring and modern watering equipment, the large riding arena offers riders an exceptional space in which to perfect their riding skills. The brightly-lit arena is used for the riding center's dressage competitions, events, advanced training courses, in-house competitions and official dressage and show-jumping competitions.

Its size (13×25) and the quality of the ground provide riders with a safe environment for learning to ride smoothly.
THE LITTLE MANEGE
Completely renovated in 2014, this bright riding arena enables beginner riders to discover horse riding in comfort and safety. Its adjacent grandstand, adjoining the Club House, is a convivial space for parents and friends wishing to watch the riders' exploits.
THE EQUESTRIAN CENTER'S SADDLERY
The saddles and bridles of the riding center's horses are carefully maintained and regularly renewed. Each saddle is fitted with a pad in the Touring Club de France colors and back shock absorbers for the horses' comfort.
Saddle racks are available for hire for riders with their own equipment.
Last but not least, there are lockers where you can store your personal belongings for the duration of the ride, allowing you to enjoy this equestrian moment without a care in the world!
THE PONY CLUB'S SADDLERY
Recently renovated, the pony club's tack room is also the pony allocation office. It's also a convivial space where our young riders regularly decorate their tack with magnificent drawings showing their affection for their favorite pony!
The equipment is carefully maintained and regularly renewed. Each saddle is fitted with a rug in the Touring Club de France colors, and back shock absorbers to ensure the ponies' comfort.
THE EQUESTRIAN CENTER'S STABLES
Touring Club de France horses are housed in Napoleon III-era boxes and stalls.
Our Grande Ecurie, built under Napoleon III and totally renovated in 2013, is an exceptional place that we maintain with care for the comfort of our horses and the pleasure of our riders.
LES ECURIES DU PONEY CLUB
The larger ponies are housed in boxes or stalls, while the smaller ones are grouped together in one large, bright stable adapted to the size of the ponies and their smaller riders.
SECRETARIAT - CONVIVIALITY ROOM
Marine and Giulia welcome you from Monday to Saturday to share a moment of conviviality and answer all your questions.
Drinks and sweets dispensers are available. Tables and armchairs allow riders to get together for drinks and well-deserved meals!
PHILOSOPHY AND PEDAGOGY
At Touring, you'll discover a balance between learning, conviviality and the horse's well-being.
Our aim is to train riders in a warm, family atmosphere. Our wide range of horses enables you to progress at your own pace; from Shetland to competition horses, we are committed to ensuring that you ride horses with temperaments and abilities that are consistent with your level and progress objectives.
Touring teachers benefit from additional training courses throughout the year to refine their techniques and teaching methods, so that they are always up to date.
At Touring, we pay particular attention to the well-being of our horses and ponies. The working rhythm of each of them is adapted as much as necessary; our entire cavalry spends the summer in the meadow for a well-deserved rest; and thanks to the contribution of all our members, we offer each equine a well-deserved comfortable retirement.
ANIMAL WELFARE
The respect and health of our horses have always been Touring's two main concerns. This approach is inseparable from the special relationship between the rider and his working companion.
Equine well-being is the physical and mental health of the horse in a favorable environment. It is the result of constant vigilance. Le Touring has taken measures to guarantee a high level of Equine Well-Being, with regard to..:
- Equipment and maintenance: individual drinking troughs on request, individual stalls with gooseneck doors, regular cleaning and mulching, transport protocols, individual adaptation of tack, equipment maintenance and replacement program, etc.
- Equine physical and mental health: personalized feeding, monitoring of weekly riding hours, resting when necessary, regular veterinary visits with individual follow-up booklet, prevention and vaccination programs, regular farriery, free turnout in closed riding arenas or open arenas, summer pasture.
- Retirement of our horses and ponies: for a very long time, Touring and its members have chosen to give a second life to all our equines after they are retired. Since 2015, we have signed boarding contracts with two selected and regularly monitored service providers. This global policy is actively supported and financed by our members via a specific annual contribution.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AT TCF
By implementing the ISO 14001:2015 standard, the Touring Club de France and its neighbor La Société d'Equitation de Paris have committed to developing and maintaining an environmentally-friendly operating and management system.
To this end, actions to promote sustainable development are carried out by both clubs: organization of flea markets, the Equitrocs, awareness-raising campaigns, reduction of paper printing, etc.
As part of this sustainable development and environmental management approach, the management teams of both clubs have made a number of commitments, reflected in an environmental policy available below.
THE TEAMS
The Touring team is made up of 8 professional and volunteer instructors, trainees in training, 6 stable attendants to ensure the comfort of our horses and ponies, and an administrative team at your service in the secretariat. The Touring Club de France is an Association under the French Law of 1901, with full members and honorary members. The club is administered by an Executive Committee whose members are elected by the Annual General Meeting.
